The NCHS Athletic Booster Club and the Athletic Hall of Fame Committee would like to invite the public to the Hall of Fame induction ceremony for the Class of 2022 inductees, which will take place at halftime of the Pioneer football game on Friday, Oct. 21 (7 p.m. game time) at the Nebraska City High School. The public is also invited to a meet and greet for the 5th quarter following the game, sponsored by Pin High Clubhouse and Grill located at 5633 I Road. Class of 2022 Inductees include Jack Hobbie, Betty (Nienkamp) Mason, Thomas Hall, Meri Nienkamp, Heather (Kuhlman) Oddo, Dean Thiesfeld (posthumously), George Peterson (posthumously), and the 1921 Men’s Basketball State Championship Team (posthumously). If you know someone who deserves to be nominated for the NCHS Athletic Hall of Fame, forms will be available at the ceremony. Hamburg’s Zayne Osborn continues his cancer fight with the knowledge that he’s not fighting this battle alone. The Hamburg community and surrounding communities have made that fact clear with support pouring in from Sidney, Nebraska City, Glenwood, Plattsmouth, Tabor, Malvern, Riverton and Rockport.
After four years of hard work and planning, on Sunday, Sept. 11, the University of Nebraska Lincoln dedicated the Veterans’ Tribute Panels at the Pershing Military and Naval Science Building at 14th and Vine, just east of Memorial Coliseum, and in the heart of UNL’s campus.
The Nebraska City football team raced back from down 33-7 in the third quarter on homecoming night at Nebraska City and fell just three points short on the final scoreboard in a 33-30 decision against Raymond Central.

Lourdes scored three of the first four touchdowns in Friday’s game at Humboldt-TRS and outlasted the Titans by the final score of 60-56. Knight quarterback Nolan Beccard threw a 10-yard pass and the Knights had touchdown runs of 10 and 12 yards.
Members of the NCHS cross country team were set to compete at district meets at Mount Michael on Oct. 13.
