According to Rally Health , a digital health experience that helps you make simple changes in your daily routine, walking can be an effective cardio exercise if one goes at a brisk pace of at least three miles per hour. Walking at this pace can effectively push the heart and lungs to work hard without adversely affecting the joints in the way that other aerobic exercises might. Harvard Health says that walking of any kind can help people maintain healthy weights, lower their risk for various diseases, keep blood pressure in check, lift mood, and strengthen bones. A number of studies also show that walking can help people improve memory and avoid age-related memory loss.

Wildwood Featured Artist: Lori L. Heine

A love of the outdoors and a natural talent for drawing combined for Eagle artist Lori L. Heine, whose work is featured in the Wildwood Art Barn this season. Heine was raised on a farm north of Unadilla and enjoys creating her highly detailed watercolor paintings. She hand-draws each subject on watercolor paper, then applies paint, which she said can take anywhere from 5 hours for a small painting to 40 or more for a large work.

Lee joins Miller as walk on athlete at UNL

Kirt Manion, CherryRoad Media In a testimony to the athletic prowess of the 2021-22 athletic class at Lourdes Central Catholic, a second Knight athlete plans to walk on at the University of Nebraska. Beau Lee joins Blake Miller as a Husker walk-on with Miller going into the football program and Lee recently announcing that he would walk on with the Husker men’s track team.
