The Morton-James Public Library concluded its 2022 summer reading program, "Oceans of Possibilities," with a party for participants on Saturday, July 16. Here's a look back at some of the activities children and families experienced since the start of this year's program on May 31. Week 1 activities included making egg carton aquariums and balloon animal adventures. Week 2 saw participants take part in Talewise Science + Storytelling and the creation of pirate flags. Week 3 had young readers making clippable sea animals and encountering wildlife. Week 4 was highlighted by a visit from magician Jeff Quinn and shark book page crafts. Week 5 featured a 4th of July cup banner craft, Story Time, and a special Saturday 4th of July party. Week 6 events included a paper lollipop craft and a magic show at the library featuring Keith West and Miss Kitty the Library Lady. Week 7 featured a special story time with Keep Nebraska City Beautiful and the wrap-up party. Adults got in on the fun this summer, too, making patriotic wreaths to celebrate Flag Day and the 4th of July.
