Roger Lynn Jun

Roger Lynn Jun, 79, of Otoe passed away peacefully at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Syracuse on Saturday, July 17, 2022. He was born on April 9, 1943 to Golda Marie (Goodheart) and Arnold Jun in Humboldt, NE. While growing up on his grandfather’s farm in the Humboldt area, he attended school in Humboldt and graduated from Humboldt High School in 1960. In 1964, Roger graduated from Milford Community College with a degree in Agribusiness.

Annetta (Roesch) Pickett

Annetta Marie (Roesch) Pickett, 84, of Oklahoma City, OK, passed away July 16, 2022 after a year-long battle with Pancreatic Cancer. She was born July 11, 1938 in Falls City, NE, the oldest of 7 children to Fred “Fritz” Adam and Mabel Francis (Noyes) Roesch. Anne spent most of her childhood in southeast NE living in Falls City, Dawson, Nebraska City, Shubert and other towns. She was attending Otoe High School her junior year when her family moved to Grants Pass, OR where she graduated in 1955 at age 16. Anne returned to Nebraska City after graduation and began working at the Pat A Cake Cafe’ and Foley’s Jewelry Store. It was at the cafe’ where she met and fell in love with Gary Pickett from Nemaha, NE. They were married on May 4,1956 and soon afterwards the start of their family began with the birth of their son in June of 1957. Gary’s 47-year career with Western Union in 1955 moved the little family to Falls City, Tulsa, OK, Little Rock, AR and other towns along the way until he arrived at Tinker Air Force Base in 1962. A daughter was added to the family in 1966. For 60 years the Pickett family would call Oklahoma City and the Mid-Del suburban area their home. During the 1970’s and 80’s, Anne served as homeroom mother and Sunday school teacher in her children’s classrooms and later returned to work as a receptionist at Lee’s RV City where she retired in 1998.
