Color Dash

Kids and adults alike enjoyed the slime and color fun of the inaugural Color Dash presented by Ambassador Wellness Center at Steinhart Park and Steinhart Park Aquatic Center. The dash began its one-mile course at the Aquatic Center and voyaged up toward the tank in the park where dashers army crawled through slime. They were soaked with slime guns and went through the suds in spider web themed portion of the race before eventually ending up back at the Aquatic Center for photos in front of the event banner.

Silver State Champs

The Nebraska City Elite 14s baseball team earned the USSSA 14AA Nebraska Silver State Championship in tournament action on July 1, 2 and 3 in Omaha. After pool play, the NC Elite 14s won four straight in bracket play to capture the title. During their title run, the NC 14s outscored their opponents 46-21. They finished their season with a record of 16-15-1. Players on the NC 14s this year were Callen Schnitzer, Braylon Fletcher, Dane Lyons, Tate Hawley, Trevor Flash, Landon Ferguson, Reed Hamling, Edgar Ruiz, Mason VonFeldt, Andrew Hodges, Blaine Leyden and Kaiden Klassen. Coaches were Kyle Ferguson (Head) and Dru Leyden and Alex Schnitzer (Assistants). Members of the team were honored during the American Legion Junior and Senior doubleheader on July 4.
