Region V Services helps NC artist learn new techniques

Region V Services supports people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Southeast Nebraska with the goal to increase public awareness of the needs and the potential of Americans with developmental disabilities and to provide the encouragement and opportunities they need to lead productive lives and to achieve their full potential. Region V Services has been assisting individuals in Southeast Nebraska for 49 years. One such person is Chris Paap.

Empowered to Forgive

One morning our family was praying, “And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.” But in the back of my mind I was thinking, “Do I really want God to forgive me the way I’m forgiving others at this point in time? Because right now I’m wishing God would send meteorites from the sky to burn up certain people.”

Otoe County of Commissioners

The Otoe County Board of Commissioners met on Tuesday, June 21, and took the following actions: Approved an insurance proposal for FY 2022-2023 to remain with Travelers Insurance and to keep Miller Farrell Insurance as the county's local agent; Approved a subdivision plat of TREHMEN Subdivision, a 7.39-acre tract located at 725 S. 22nd Rd.; Approved a subdivision plat of Poverty Farm Subdivision, a 3-acre tract located at 2240 E Rd.; Tabled a discussion on chiller replacement with Control Services Inc.; Approved an interlocal agreement with Region V Systems to provide emergency protective custody (EPC) services for the county; Approved an agreement with Partners for Otoe County for youth and family coaching services support to the juvenile diversion director/central navigator; and Approved agreements with CEDARS to provide family support services and community coaching to the county's juvenile diversion program.

NSP Troopers located missing Indiana teen

Troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol have located a missing 13-year-old girl from Indiana and arrested a Colorado man following a traffic stop on Interstate 80 Wednesday, June 15. Wednesday afternoon, NSP was notified by the Lafayette, Indiana Police Department that the missing girl was believed to be traveling through Nebraska with an adult man.
