Gearhead Saturday set for June 18

Bethel Church of Nebraska City, 2400 Central Ave., will host Gearhead Saturday on June 18 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Shine up hour hot rod, classic car, motorcycle, or antique tractor and enter it into the contest and then enjoy a free-will offering luncheon. Awards will be given to the top entries at 2:45 p.m. Awards will be given out for Best in Show in each category. Online registration is $25 and includes a t-shirt. For his final prom before graduation, Seth Kadlec has pulled out all the stops. His tuxedo coat has tails. His vest and bow-tie shimmer in deep burgundy satin. He’s a candidate for prom king, after all. Just like the friends he had cheered on in the prom court before, he now makes a grand entrance in front of classmates, peers and parents, arm-in-arm with a senior in an equally festive silver-sequined dress.

Dance Recital

The Nebraska City Dance Studio presented its annual recital entitled “Just Keep Swimming” on June 3, 4 and 5 at the Wirth Theater at Lourdes Central Catholic. Seniors this year at the studio are, from left: Kaylee Manion, Isabella Earl, Ashlee Adkins, Reese Eaton, Hannah Knox and Chloe Stander. Over 140 dancers participated in the recital this year.
