Social media: It’s not just for kids anymore
Perhaps due to the popularity of social media among a generation of young people who grew up with it, platforms such as Instagram and Facebook are often associated with people born in the 21st century. NC Rotary Club learns about The Royal MedSpa
The primary goals of The Royal MedSpa in downtown Nebraska City are education and prevention of skin cancer and other skin problems. Owner Misty Hill and Owner Misty Hill and chief aesthetician Linda Tomky spoke to the Nebraska City Rotary Club on May 18 about the newest downtown business, which offers a variety of services, ranging from facials to waxing to injectable treatments, for clients of all ages.
NC Council approves $10K grant to new childcare provider
Nebraska City parents looking for childcare may soon have another in-town option. During the May 16 meeting of the Nebraska City City Council, the council approved a $10,000 forgivable loan from the City of Nebraska City Economic Development Program Growth Funds for Knapp Time to start a daycare center at 417 Central Ave.

Nebraska City golfers in district tournament
Shooting for Nebraska City at the Class B1 district golf tournament at Table Creek on Monday, May 16, were Landon Clark, 100 for 41st; Jayden Borns, 111; Drew Weddle, 115; and Carter Maybee, 118. The individual champion was William Mulin of Omaha Skutt with a 73. He beat Jackson Lapour, also of Omaha Skutt in a playoff. The top team was Omaha Skutt with a 312. Also qualifying for state as a team were Elkhorn North and Omaha Concrodia. Both shot 320.
New NC disc golf course discussed at Rotary Club
Nebraska has 99 18-hole disc golf courses, and one 9-hole course, which is located right here in Nebraska City. The Nebraska City Rotary Club got to hear how the Nebraska City course developed from one of its designers, Mitch Chapin, during the club's May 11 meeting.

NCTC announces Summer Movie Series films
Nebraska City Tourism and Commerce has a full slate of movies lined up for the 2022 Downtown Summer Movie Series, which kicks off on Saturday, June 4. The free series features family-friendly movies shown outdoors in the Sunken Parking Lot on Central Avenue Saturday nights at dusk in the summertime.
