NC Council still deciding how to spend city’s ARPA funds

The Nebraska City City Council is still accepting public input on how the city should spend the $1.29 million in American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds it will receive from the federal government. Nebraska City City Administrator Lou Leone provided an update on the Act and the steps the city has taken to solicit public comment as the April Hot Topics on April 13 at the Morton-James Public Library.

100th Birthday

Bazil Wenzel will celebrate his 100th birthday with an Open House at the Avoca Town Hall on Sunday, April 24, from 1 to 4 p.m.. This event is hosted by his children, David (Jackie) Wenzel, Susan (Dave) Snodgrass, Ellen (Dave) Arthur and Don (Deanna) Wenzel.

Traffic Light

Work continues to install a traffic light at the intersection of South 11th Street and 11th Corso. The project is being done by the Developer, Cocca Development, Cocca Holdings III LLC. The traffic signal was included in the Tax Increment Financing Amendment for the Dollar Fresh project. This included costs associated with the signal and for site development. The contractor for the project is Omaha Electric Services Inc.
