Otoe County Sheriff 's Office deputies and Syracuse Rescue responded to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of County Roads B and 34 near Avoca on Wednesday, March 2. A Ford F250S pickup truck driven by Joshua P. Behmer of Avoca was northbound on CR 34 when it was struck by an eastbound Chevrolet Silverado owned by Vantage Agri Service Inc. of Avoca and driven by Loren L. Stubbendick of Syracuse. The Ford failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection and also failed to yield the right of way to the Chevrolet. Both vehicles were totaled, according to the sheriff 's report, and Syracuse Rescue transported both men with suspected minor injuries.
