The American Pet Products Association says there are 63.4 million households in the United States that have a dog, and with the exception of 2002 and 2015, that number has steadily risen since 2000. Certain breeds remain especially popular among dog owners. In August 2021, the pet insurance provider Trupanion released the most popular dog breeds of 2020, and the top five breeds were:

Ricketts discusses South Platte water, state taxes at NC Town Hall

Thanks to a 99-year-old agreement that was approved by Congress, Nebraska can build a canal in Colorado to bring water from the South Platte River to the state and store it in a reservoir here. The agreement, called the South Platte River Compact and signed by Nebraska and Colorado in 1923, Neb is entitled to 120 cubic feet of water per second from the South Platte from April 1 to October 15 annually for irrigation use.

The Eagle Has Landed!

Yesterday morning on my way to church I saw something I didn’t dream I would ever see. There, in the roadside ditch sat a regal bald eagle enjoying a breakfast opossum! I had heard there had been some sightings in our immediate area but didn’t think I would see one so close up and personal.
