Nebraska City basketball teams pick up wins againt Plattsmouth

The Nebraska City girls’ and boys’ basketball teams backed up Trailblazer Conference consolation round wins against Plattsmouth by topping the Blue Devils again in both halves of a regular season doubleheader on Tuesday, Feb. 1. The Pioneer girls’ team won 39-32 on Tuesday after having beaten Plattsmouth 47-29 in the conference consolation game. Scoring on Tuesday for NCHS were Halle Thompson, 14; Katie Scrheiter, nine; Emilee Marth, six; Kendyl Schmitz, five; and Tarryn Godsey, and Casey Smith, each with two. Scoring for the Pioneers in the consolation game were Thompson, 17; Schmitz, 13; Schreiter, 10; Smith, four; and Godsey, three. In the first round of conference, the Pioneers lost to Platteview, 54-26. Scoring in that game were Thompson, nine; Schreiter, seven; Smith, four; and Schmitz, Marth and Isabelle Johnson, two each. Turning to the Pioneer boys’ team, Nebraska City beat Plattsmouth 46- 19 on Tuesday after topping them 58-46 in the consolation round of the tournament. Scoring on Tuesday were Chase Brown, 20; Nyuon Thuokok, 10; Braden Thompson, six; Jayden Borns, five; and MJ Nelson, two. Scoring in the consolation game were Thuokok, 22; Thompson, 13; Brown, nine; Nelson, nine and Borns, five.

Davis’ Dispatches with Julie Davis: Changes continue

As we settle in to Month 4 with CherryRoad Media, we received our new company laptop computers and have begun to be trained on them. After spending quite a lot of my in-office career with the Apple family of products and my freelance life divided between macs and PCs, I find myself in a bit of a learning curve at the moment (Which machine am I on? What did I want to do next? How do I do it on this particular machine? and so on).
