Aaron John Mead has been named to the Ivy College of Business dean’s list at Iowa State University. The dean’s list recognizes students who have carried at least 12 credit hours of graded or S-F courses with a 3.50 grade-point average or above for the semester. Mead is the son of Tammie Heller of Syracuse and Ron Mead of Des Moines, Iowa. He is the grandson of Cheryl Hauptman of Nebraska City and the late Philip Dean Hauptman, Ken and Carol Arthur of Omaha.
Taylor Mead of Syracuse has been named to the dean’s honor roll for the Heider College of Business at Creighton University. Taylor is the daughter of Tammie Heller of Syracuse and Ron Mead of Des Moines, Iowa.
Despite being about five years younger than many of the teams they faced, the Otoe County Robotics Team hung in strong during this year's competition. "I'm really proud of them," said Extension Educator Deb Weitzenkamp in her annual report to the Otoe County Board of Commissioners.

The 57th annual Nebraska City Coin Club Show took place Sunday, Feb. 13, at the Nebraska City Eagle’s Club, 600 First Corso, in downtown Nebraska City. Dealers from a four-state region were on hand to buy, sell, and trade coins, currency, tokens and medals. They also offered free appraisals. The Sidney branch of Arbor Bank presented a check to the junior class representatives from Lourdes Central Catholic. The check for $800 goes to support the venue rental costs for this year’s Lourdes prom. The Morton-James Public Library, 923 1st Corso, invites you to join in casual community conversation in the Library’s Kimmel Gallery on Tuesday, Feb. 22. Three meetings times are available: 10:30 a.m., 2 p.m., or 7 p.m. The conversations will take place in the Kimmel Gallery on the library's lower level.
The next Otoe County Extension Board meeting will be Tuesday, March 1 at 7 p.m. This meeting will be held online with Zoom.
