Fly rod building class

Why purchase a new fly rod when you can fish one with the satisfaction of knowing you’ve built it yourself? The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission, in cooperation with Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing and the Cornhusker Fly Fishing Club, is sponsoring a fly rod building class for beginners this winter. The class will be held six consecutive Wednesdays at 6 p.m.

Nebraska 4-H Livestock Achievement Program offers new in-depth learning experiences

Nebraska 4-H members across the state were recognized as “members of excellence” for their participation in a new livestock program launched in 2021. The Nebraska 4-H Livestock Achievement Program was designed to promote all educational aspects of 4-H livestock projects including selection, production, leadership and exhibition by recognizing youth striving to importance in their livestock project knowledge and leadership.

Tabitha taps Swenseth as TEAMember of the Year

Nonprofit Tabitha, Nebraska’s industry-leading Senior Care provider, honored Dayna Swenseth, Director of Nursing as Tabitha’s annual TEAMember of the Year. Swenseth, shares her time and talent at Tabitha Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Lincoln, Nebr. She is responsible for leading all nursing units and was spotlighted for her successful management of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Davis’ Dispatches: On getting organized

Is anyone else looking forward to being more organized in 2022? I have set a goal for myself to get organized in the new year. Although I am fairly organized most of the time, the last few years have been a challenge for my organizational skills: three moves in three years and the consolidation of multiple storage units into a single location have left me a bit muddled in my ability to find things.
