Nebraska is more than cows and corn — and really may be for everyone after all. The state will get its Discovery Channel debut Jan.

A new class of Nebraska State Troopers was swornin today and is ready to begin their careers serving Nebraska. The members of the 65th Basic Recruit Class in Nebraska State Patrol history received their badges and took the oath of office at the State Capitol today.

Santa and Amy the elf took time out of their last-minute toy building and package wrapping to bring back a longstanding tradition of visiting the Nebraska City Rotary Club to distribute gifts to the children and grandchildren of club members. Members of the Belles A-Peelin’ serenaded Santa with a rendition of “Santa Baby” before he began handing out the gifts. The regular Nebraska City Rotary Club meeting schedule will resume Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2022, at noon at Valentino’s, 1710 S. 11th St.
