Nebraska City High School FCCLA will be hosting their annual soup dinner during the boys' and girls' Pioneer basketball games against Arlington on Friday, Dec. 10. Games start at 4:30 p.m. This is a free will donation to enjoy a variety of soups and desserts. This year, half of the proceeds will go to the Otoe County Relay for Life, and half will go to the family of the late Hunter Baker.

Dear Amy: Am I racist? A couple of teenagers were at my front door, and I shouted to my husband: “Hey, there are some Black kids at the door, and I don’t have time to deal with them.” Kids at the door in my neighborhood are usually selling something or are looking for yard work. My biracial future daughter-in-law was present when I did this and took offense.
Lourdes High School hosted District One Act on Tuesday, Nov. 30 beginning at 9 a.m. in the Wirth Theatre. Schoosl participating were Humboldt-Table Rock-Steiner, Lourdes Central Catholic, Johnson-Brock, Pawnee City, Southern, Elmwood-Murdock, Weeping Water and Freeman.
The regular monthly meeting of the Morton-James Public Library is scheduled to take place at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Dec.
Frank Hardy #73553, age 68, died Wednesday, Dec. 1, at the Tecumseh State Correctional Institution (TSCI). His sentence started May 4, 2011. Hardy was serving a 75 to 95 year sentence on charges of Gage County that included first degree sexual assault of a child, third degree sexual assault of a child and visual depiction of sexually explicit conduct.
