Nebraska City Basketball and Wrestling Schedule

Nebraska City athletics for Tuesday, Jan. 4, has the girls’ and boys’ basketball teams playing at Falls City at 6 and 7:30 p.m. while the Pioneer wrestling teams host Falls City for a dual at home at 6:30 p.m.. On Thursday, Jan. 6, the girls’ basketball team will host a 7:15 p.m. game against Omaha Gross. And Friday, Jan. 7, has the boys’ wrestling team competing at 4 p.m. at Ashland Greenwood while the girls’ basketball team plays host to Council Bluffs Thomas Jefferson at 6 p.m. and the girls’ wrestling team competes at 2 p.m. at High Plains.

Otoe Wildcats top Murdock, 1957

The Otoe Wildcats opened their basketball season Friday evening with a 54-49 victory over Murdock. The Wildcats came from behind in the final period to overcome a lead held by Murdock during most of the game. Otoe took a brief 16-14 first quarter lead, but trailed 29-24 at halftime and 44-37 entering the stretch. Jerry Gorton, a senior varsity letter winner led the Wildcats with 26 points but fouled out the first minute of the fourth period. Roger Ross, who finished the game with 10 points took over the scoring chores in the fourth stanza and helped pull out the victory.

NC Council final 2021 meeting postponed one day

The Nebraska City City Council met on Tuesday, Dec. 21, and took the following actions: Approved an agreement with Forte to provide integrated credit card processing for the city with the existing gWorks accounting software; Approved a request from the city’s Administration Department to apply for up to $8,500 in grants and donations to bring The Retro Bill Show to Nebraska City for six performances in late February or early March.
