The Blue Star Mothers Chapter 1 of Nebraska in Nebraska City awarded Quilts of Valor to 10 veterans in two ceremonies at the Nebraska City Veterans Memorial Building on Saturday, Nov. 9.
Since joining the Quilt of Valor project in 2017, the Blue Star Mothers have awarded 285 Quilts of Valor locally.
The women thanked the Nebraska City Community Foundation, the Karl H. and Wealtha H. Nelson Family Foundation, and the Steinhart Foundation for their continued support.
Nationally, 400,903 Quilts of Valor have been awarded to service members and veterans in the past 21 years.
