Syracuse’s Tannenbaum celebration is Saturday, Dec. 3.
The Syracuse Area Chamber of Commerce is preserving traditional activities, while adding a few changes during the day-long event.
Retailers will host open houses from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m, with many in-store specials, refreshments and holiday gifts. There will also be a Baker’s Market at the 5th Street Centre corridor.
For that day only, people may enter to win door hangings in businesses and the 5th Street Centre.
AJ’s Coffee House will serve brunch at the 5th Street Centre Green Room from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and coffee tasting will be from 9 to 11:30 a.m.
The Holiday Tour of Homes runs from 1-4 p.m., with $6 tickets and maps available for purchase at AJ’s, The Studio and Added Touch.
Inviting people to stroll into their homes during the tour this year are the Cramer family, the Bjork family, and the Panko family.
All proceeds for the tour go into next year’s Tannenbaum fund.
Kid’s Time is in the Green Room at the 5th Street Centre, from 3:30-5:30 p.m. There will be free crafts and an old-fashioned “bake walk,” with a visit from Santa 4-5:30 p.m. Parents are encouraged to bring cameras, to snap pictures of the kids with St. Nick.
A donation for the food pantry is all that’s needed to enjoy a hayrack ride, if the weather holds. Rides will run from 5-6 p.m., and will load in front of AJ’s.
Tree lighting, community caroling and special music will begin at 6 p.m.
