A 46-year-old Fairbury man was taken to St. Mary’s Community Hospital Thursday after the truck and semi-trailer he was driving turned over at the intersection of Highways 75 and 2 south of Nebraska City.

The Otoe County Sheriff’s Office reports that Gene Spanjer Jr. was traveling north on Highway 75 attempting to turn left and go west on Highway 2. The trailer, loaded with 74,000 pounds of cat food, tipped over as Spanjer completed the turn.
