Sports fans should take note of Friday’s action in Nebraska City. Track and field, tennis and baseball are all on tap for the weekend.
The Knight track teams will host the Orville Rettig meet Friday morning at the Pioneer Field, while the Pioneer tennis team hosts its annual invite at the Steinhart Park courts.
District baseball tourney action gets underway at 6 p.m. Friday at Clemmy Holmes Field with Waverly taking on Yutan. The winner of that game will play Nebraska City at 12 p.m. Saturday. South Sioux City and Omaha Roncalli will play in a 3 p.m. Saturday.
The winners of the Saturday baseball games will play for the district tourney title and a bid to the state tournament at 6 p.m. Monday.
