The third annual St. Mary’s Community Hospital Foundation dodgeball tournament ended Saturday in an upset championship by the finals’ youngest team.

A team of high school freshman and sophomores were placed as the fourth seed in a six-team tournament following preliminary rounds.

Troy Dixon, David Palmtag, Trevor Chaney, Eric Francois, Bladen Bales and Josh Peterson cruised to victory, however.

They defeated Jeremy Sammons’ team in the final. The team consists of Chad Bassinger, Jeremy Sammons, Travis Peterson, Gabe Sammons, Frank Stidd and Greg Denniston.
The tournament was held Saturday at the Nebraska City Middle School.
