The Nebraska City High School softball team will open play at the first-ever Syracuse-Dunbar-Avoca Invitational tourney on Aug. 28.
Nebraska City will open play at 9 a.m. Saturday on the South Park ballfield against Bennington.
Other first round games are Yutan/Mead versus Johnson County Central, Cass County Central versus S-D-A, and Bishop Neumann versus Southern. Games will take place not only on the South Park field, but also at the Syracuse softball complex.
Other game times will be 10:45 a.m. and 1 p.m. with results determining the field assignments.
