The Nebraska City cross country team hosted an Invite at the Wildwood Golf Course on Thursday, September 20, where Chloe Schaulis and James Kearney came away with top 5 finishes on a hot and windy day.

As a team, the Pioneers girls varsity placed third overall, in a nine team race.


On the girls side, Schaulis placed fifth, and a time of 23:53; Brianna Fulton, 16th, 26:13; Vivian Gay, 17th, 26:48; Bayley Allgood, 19th, 27:24; Lilly Frields, 23rd, 29:01.


Chloe Schaulis said she was hoping to have a better time, but was pleased with her performance especially with Omaha Skutt competing this year.


The boys varsity placed sixth with James Kearney leading the way with a time of 17:35, and a fourth place crossing.
Kearney said that he was sitting in sixth place throughout the race, and to finish in fourth place was really important.  Kearney added that he was able to defeat three guys he has lost to in the past.


Jessie Rodriguez finished with a time of 21:28; Jack Vlahos, 21:35; Hayden Schalk, 22:18; Christian Tietz, 23:33; Oscar Flores, 24:29.


JV girls: Katherine Luther, 10th place, 27:48; Althea Gay, 11th place, 28:42; Erica Ramage, 12th, 29:27; Karlie Olsen, 16th, 31:39: Aspen Thurman, 18th, 32:58; Mya Bartman, 22nd, 33:58.


JV boys: Layne Epp, 22;53; Jared Robles, 27:19; Jesus Flores, 27:38; William Ramage, 28:16; Andreas Pro, 21:39; Eric Pogemmeyer, 30:53.


Middle School Boys: Alex Rico, 3rd place, 8:15; Lucas Nielsen, 7th, 8:54; Ethan Graves, 8th, 9:00; Eli Davis, 6th, 8:51; Marcus Bartman, 22nd, 9:49; Mason Anderson, 11:03.


Middle School Girls:
Elizabeth Luther, 3rd place, 9:49; Malayna Madsen, 4th, 9:57; Hannah Norris, 20th, 12:07.


Nebraska City will be at Rockport on Tuesday, September 25.
