Lourdes volleyball had an impressive showing on Saturday, September 1, during the Weeping Water Tournament, where the Knights were unbeaten and came away with a first place finish after beating Falls City Sacred Heart in the championship game.

After starting the season 0-2, Lourdes won three straight games on Saturday without losing a set.


The Knights faced the Irish on August 23, where the Irish won in five grueling sets.


On Saturday, the Knights would get it’s pay back in the championship game by taking down the Irish; 25-22; 26-24.  


“We had a very well rounded offensive attack with six girls getting kills,” Coach Michelle Kreifels said after the win.  


Elaina Madison led the Knights in kills with eight, followed be Libby Baumert with six.  Addie DeFreece and Ainsley Esser added five, while Jacey Kreifels and Ivye Meyer contributed one.  Kreifels had 19 set assists and 10 digs.  Emma Heng led the team with 16 digs.

Lourdes defeat Conestoga; 25-8; 25-7.
Madison was perfect with no hitting errors and provided 10 kills on 12 swings and added two blocks.
Meyer and Baumert each had two kills, while Jacey Kreifels scored eight serving aces along with 14 assists.  Baumert had four serving aces.

The Knights will be home to face Freeman on Thursday, Sept. 6 beginning at 6:30 p.m.
