Football fans start to realize that the season is close when the official media day for their particular conference is announced!

The 2018 Heart of America Athletic Conference (Heart) football season will unofficially kick off on Monday, July 30, with Football Media Day taking place in conjunction with the fourth Annual Heart Summit.

The event is scheduled to take place at the Embassy Suites Hotel and Conference Center, located at 10401 S Ridgeview Road in Olathe, Kan., and will begin at 2:00 p.m.

All 11 head coaches will speak during the event, which will be streamed on the Heart Facebook page. Fans are encouraged to interact during the event as questions will be taken from the Comments section and may be asked to head coaches during their allotted time.

Clarke head coach Miguel Regalado will also have the opportunity to share about the Pride program. Clarke is planning to begin Heart play in the 2019 season.

Peru State head coach Steve Schneider will be among the 11 head coaches taking part in the annual media day. Schneider is starting his seventh season at the helm of the Bobcat program. Last year, the ‘Cats went 7-4 overall and were 3-2 in the North Division.

The 2018 Heart Football Coaches' Preseason Poll will also be released as part of the event, with polls conducted for each division. Benedictine and Grand View shared the 2017 North Division title, while Baker and Evangel finished atop the the 2017 South Division standings.

Peru State will begin its 2018 campaign on Saturday, August 25, when they travel to face the Hastings Broncos in a 7 p.m. contest. The Broncos finished 5-6 last season which included three losses to ranked NAIA teams.
