Nebraska City Post 8 Seniors scored three runs in the first inning but were held scoreless throughout the rest of the contest, as Concordia won 11-3 on Monday, June 18, at Nebraska City.
Scary moment early in the game when Tyler Levy ran over to back up a throw from catcher Dylan Knoell at second. The ball was just out of reach of short stop, Clay Stovall and the ball hit Levy in the eye. He was taken to the hospital and is doing better as the swelling has gone down.
Concordia scored four runs in the first inning. In the bottom of the first, NC scored three runs of it’s own thanks to a two RBI single by Alex Breazile that scored Stovall and Trent Fahey. The game ended in five innings due to scoring rules.
Knoell was 2-for-2 with two singles and a run scored. Breazile came away with a hit and two RBI. Stovall added a single and a run scored.
Bryce Levy accepted the loss for NC. Levy tossed four innings. Allowed seven hits, six walks, two strikeouts, 11 runs, four earned. Breazile came in to relieve and allowed two hits, one walk, one strikeout, in one inning of play.
