Dylan Knoell went 2-4 with a home run, single, and three RBI as the Pioneers went on to win 5-3 against Douglas County West on Monday, April, 30 at DC West.
With the game scoreless in the fourth inning, Knoell crushed a home run to center field to give the Pioneers a 1-0 advantage. Still in the fourth, Tyler Levy singled and Garrett Bassinger hit a line drive RBI triple to give NC a 2-0 lead. Trent Fahey would get an RBI sacrifice and the Pioneers lead 3-0 at the end of the top half of the fourth.
Douglas County West scored two runs in the next two innings to get within one, but Knoell hit a two RBI single to right field in the top half of the seventh inning that scored Jace Becker and Eli Southard.
Fahey picked up the win on the mound for Nebraska City. Fahey threw five innings, gave up eight hits, five strikeouts, and two earned runs.
Becker earned the save by throwing two innings, surrendering one run, on two hits, and three strikeouts.
Losing pitcher for DC West was Brock Renter. Renter tossed all seven innings allowing six hits, five runs, and striking out 10.
