Jordan Williams threw six innings and allowed one earned run during the Pioneer victory over Crete 8-3 and kept Nebraska City’s winning streak alive on Tuesday, April, 24 at Nebraska City.
The game was scoreless in the second inning, until Bryce Levy hit a solo HR to left field that carried over the fence and cracked a teammates windshield to take the lead 1-0.
Crete tied the game at 1-1 in the third, but Garrett Bassinger nailed a double to score Tyler Levy and Dylan Knoell.
Still in the third, and a runner at second, Trent Fahey crushed a HR to center field to give the Pioneers a 5-1 lead.
Nebraska City kept the pressure on Crete in the sixth inning by scoring three more runs and the Pioneers went on to win 8-3.
Nebraska City started the season 1-6 and have won four straight games as hitting has improved.
“Our hitting has improved over the last few games,” Coach Ferguson said. “Our confidence came back with our home game against Plattsmouth as we busted out and put up quite a few runs that game.”

“Jordan threw a heck of a game,” Ferguson said. He was around the zone all night and threw really well.”

Carter Kent got the loss for Crete. Kent threw five innings, 10 strikeouts, five earned runs.
