The Lourdes Central Knights girls’ basketball team picked up their seventh win of the season as they forced 18 turnovers in their win over Fremont-Mills 38-22 on Thursday, Jan. 4 at Tabor, Iowa.
Defensively, Lourdes has played  well this season. The F-M win was the fourth straight game where the Knights’ foe was held under 28 points.
  Coach Clay Carlton said that his team played well against F-M, but offensively they have work to do but feels they are close to “breaking out,” as they continue to improve.
 Jacey Kreifels led the Knights in scoring with 11.  Other noted scorers were Libby Baumert, nine; Ivye Meyer, nine; Anna Heng, Macey Allgood, Elaina Madison, and Gina McGowen, had two each; and Olivia Welch, one. Baumert and Madison had six rebounds each to lead the Knights and Kreifels was the leader in steals with five.

Lourdes received their fifth win of the season as Brandon Fredrichs led all Knights in scoring with 18 points.  Other noted scorers for the Knights were Quinten Vasa, 12; Thomas Ragland, 11; Jack Funke, 10; Colter Fulton, seven; Andrew Aldana and Ben Miller, four each; and Thomas Carpenter and Sam Baumert, two each.
