Local fighters will be in action for MMA competition in Lincoln, for the “Season’s Beatings 2017” on Dec. 9 at Pinnacle Bank Arena.
Keyes Nelson in 7-3 as an amateur and will be fighting in the 170 pound weight division against Haris Talundizic who is 5-1.  Nelson, who is 22 years old, has three wins by KO/TKO, two submission victories and two  decision wins.
Nelson will be fighting for the amateur welterweight title and is one win away from becoming a professional fighter.
Brady Minner has been fighting and training for a year and is 1-0 in the amateur rank. Minner started MMA when he realized he wasn’t in the best of shape.  
Minner began boot camp training and was asked by his brother and MMA professional, Darrick Minner , if he wanted to fight. Brady agreed and hasn’t looked back.
His first was back in September of 2017 and Brady won by submission.  Minner said that he is a fighter that has good defensive skills and is a solid wrestler but can also brawl it out.
Brady will be fighting Austin Drabick (1-0) and when asked about his opponent Minner said “I focus on myself.”
Also on the fight card for Dec 9. is Darin Hanika.  Hanika is 1-0 as an amateur.
Hanika got into fighting when one day he was lifting weights and he was approached by Luke Williams who asked Hanika if he wanted to fight MMA.  
“Once they asked, I just ran with it,”  Hanika said.
Darin said another inspiration to him is brother-in-law Anthony Smith who is a professional fighter out of Nebraska City.
Hanika won his first fight by submission. He says he’s an explosive fighter who likes to “stand and bang.”
“This sports really gives you heart and determination,”  said Hanika.
In the heavyweight division Luke Williams (2-0) will face six foot six Brodrick Nickens (0-0).  
Williams has been doing MMA just over four years and has been successful in his first two amateur fights.
Williams won his first fight by KO and won his second fight by TKO due to a doctor stoppage.
In the main event, Darrick Minner who is 19-7 as a professional will face Chuka Willis who is 9-4.
