On Wednesday, Nov. 1, the Lourdes football team lost in the second round of  state playoffs at Howells-Dodge 54-32 as the Knights end their season at 6-4.
Howells-Dodge took an early lead as Dylan Horejsi ran a 29 yard touchdown with 9:48 in the first quarter to go up 8-0.
Lourdes struck back when Thomas Ragland completed a pass to James Mason for a 37 yard score and, after a failed conversion, Howells-Dodge led 8-6.
In the second quarter with the Knights trailing  30-6, Ragland connected with Andrew Aldana for a two yard touchdown but the two point try was no good and the Knights trailed at half 30-12.
In the fourth quarter, the Knights were down 48-12 when Thomas Carpenter ran for a 12 yard touchdown to cut into the lead.
Knight back-up quarterback Sam Baumert found Christian Watkins for an eight yard score.
And, with time running out, Baumert tossed an 18 yard touchdown pass to freshman Harrison Benedict and Lourdes reached 32 points on the scoreboard.
