Edna C. Rosenthal, 91, Syracuse, formerly Cook, died Monday, June 22, 2009, at Syracuse Community Memorial Hospital. She was born Dec. 25, 1917, at Cook, daughter of Wilhelm H. Wesemann and Christina L. Binder. She married Martin Rosenthal Jan. 20, 1939, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Cook. He died Jan. 11, 2006.
A farm wife, Rosenthal was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Cook Women’s Club, Quilters Club, Mary Martha Circle and card clubs. She also taught Sunday school many years.
Surviving are two sons, Roger, Lincoln, and Terry and wife Terri, Wilber; grandchildren, Mary Ann, Omaha; Cory and fiance’ Tracey Jisa, Wilber and Nicky Diaz, Daykin; great-grandchildren, Katrina Rosenthal, Kip Nichols and Marelina Diaz; sister, Lorene Dahl and husband Duey, Lincoln; sisters-in-law, Betty Rosenthal, Lincoln; Louise Beers, Syracuse, and Lucille Wesemann, Lincoln; brother-in-law, Harold Fisher, Iowa; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, Rosenthal was preceded by her parents; brothers, Carl and Bill Wesemann and an infant brother.
Services will be Thursday, June 25, at 10 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, Cook. Pastor Steve Billington will officiate. Interment will be at Grace Lutheran Cemetery, Cook.
Pallbearers will be: Arlin and Tom Brinkman, Larry Beers, Norm Jaspring, Gary Cheloha and Bob Lageman.
Grace Bentzinger will be organist. Deb Billington will sing. There will be congregational singing.
Memorials are suggested to the family’s choice.
Visitation will be an hour before services at the church.
Fusselman-Wymore Funeral Home, Syracuse, is in charge of arrangements.
