    Harold Dean Hartnett, 72, of Percival, died Thursday, May
28, 2009 at the Methodist Hospital in Omaha. He was born on Dec. 3, 1936 in Wabalo, Mo., the son of Dee W. and
Virginia M. (Shryer) Hartnett. 

    He graduated from Percival High School in 1956 and then served in the United States Army in 1959 and 1960.  He married Jacqueline I. Coffman on Jan. 25, 1963 in Omaha. She preceded him in death in July of 1996 and their son, Timothy,

preceded him in death on Dec. 15, 2007. 

    He married Elizabeth (Handy) Kelleher on March 22, 1997 in Glenwood, Iowa.

    Dean owned and operated Hartnett Oil Company, then was corporate distribution supervisor for Occidental Nebraska Federal Savings Bank, First Tier Bank and Empire Fire & Marine Insurance.  He was a member of the Petroleum Marketers of Iowa and the Omaha Postal Customer Council.  After his  retirement, he worked at Pacific Place in Pacific Junction, Iowa,
in maintenance.

    He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Hartnett, of Percival;
daughter-in-law Gina Hartnett of Omaha; children Patrick M. Kelleher and wife Jacqueline of Media, Pa., and Matthew J. Kelleher and wife Kimberly of
Glenwood; 10 grandchildren:  Beth, Nicole, Megan, Jacob, Ryan, Lauren, Rachel, James, Jessica and Heather; four great-grandchildren:   Hailey, Kylee, Kaylin and Abigayle; three sisters:  Mary Bohlen of Nebraska City, Sharon Tumanut and husband Ben of Kansas City, Mo., and Wanda Covert of York; and other family and friends.

    Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 27, at the Percival Community Church in Percival with the Rev. Blaine
Pritchett officiating.

    Memorials may be given to the Percival Fire and Rescue or the donor’s favorite animal shelter.
