Kay Niday, 72, died Aug. 16, 2010, at Community Memorial Hospital in Syracuse. She was born Feb. 28, 1938, in Nebraska City to Charles "Floyd" and Edith "Bernice" (Simpson) Howell. She married Lanny Niday on Sept. 7, 1958, in Burbank, Calif.
She worked for the Granneman Agency for over 35 years. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She helped start the Dunbar EMS program and was a member for 19 years. She loved her children, grandchildren and her friends.
Kay is survived by sons Scott Niday and wife Kim of Pittsburgh, Pa., Troy Niday and wife Pam of Birmingham, Ala., and Gregg Niday and Lori Kaiser of Syracuse; daughter Jenn Niday and fiancé Jay Bennett of Firth; seven grandchildren, Darin Niday of Denver, Lindsey Niday of St. Louis, Patrick Niday of Kirksville, Mo., Ryann and Steven Niday of Birmingham, Christopher Niday of Syracuse and Joshua Bennett of Firth; and brother Lloyd Howell of Lincoln.
Funeral services are Friday Aug. 20, at 10 a.m. at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church in Syracuse with burial following at Wyuka Cemetery, Nebraska City.
Memorials are suggested to Dunbar EMS Fund.
Pallbearers are her grandchildren.
Visitation is Thursday Aug. 19, from 12-9 p.m. with family greeting friends from 6-8 p.m.
