Elmer G. Rader, 88, of Lincoln, died Tuesday, June 9, 2009.  He was born to Harry and Anna (Schwenke) Rader on Aug. 3, 1920 in Hallam. 

Elmer retired from the Minnesota Gas Company of Lincoln after many years of dedicated service.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards, and going to grandchildren’s functions.

He is survived by his children and their spouses, Jerry and Merrilee Rader, Lincoln, Mary Ann Rader, Lincoln, Neoma and Earl Jones, Creston, Iowa,Velma Davison and Tim Zierenberg, Lincoln; six grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law Charles and Marge Rader, Waverly; and sister and brother-in-law Esther and Don Pester, Lincoln.

He was preceded by his wives Betty Jean (Wert) Rader and Ella (Klaasmeyer) Rader; brothers Leonard, Harold, and Alvin Rader; and sisters Cora Dalles, Irene Voss, andLucille Hillis.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, June 12, at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 S. 14th St. Burial will be at Lincoln Memorial Park.

Visitation is Thursday, June 11 from 6-8 p.m. with family greeting friends and relatives at the funeral home and Friday, June 12, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.  at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to the American Kidney Foundation.

Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
