Vicki Jo Lane, 51, of Nebraska City died Aug. 13, 2010 at her home after a courageous battle with cancer. Vicki was born on Feb. 25, 1959 at Fort Dodge, Iowa, to Victor and Mary Pat (Brehm) Border.  She married Brian Lane on Aug. 8, 1975 in Fort Dodge.

She worked as a nurse’s aide at Golden Living Center in Nebraska City.

She is survived by husband Brian Lane of Nebraska City; four children, April Blevins and husband Shawn of Bellevue, Angela Lane, Jeremy Lane and Amanda Lane, all of Nebraska City; mother Mary Pat Scheer and husband Duane of Fort Dodge; father Victor Border and wife Shirley of Dana, Iowa; seven grandchildren; siblings Mark Border and wife Sheila  and Ann Machovec and husband Keith, all of Fort Dodge; and other family and friends.

She was preceded by sister Mary Beth Border.

Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 18, at Gude Mortuary in Nebraska City with Fr. Mark Cyza officiating.

Inurnment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Dumcombe, Iowa, at a later date.
