Delores L. Dukes, 96, of Nebraska City, died Aug. 12, 2010 at the Nebraska Masonic Home in Plattsmouth. She had resided at the home since May 25. Delores was born on Dec. 28, 1913 in Union to John and Lily (Crawford) Eaton. She married Harold E. Dukes on Nov. 27, 1938 in Rock Port, Mo. They shared over 71 years of marriage until her death.
Delores worked at the bomber plant in Bellevue during World War II and later at the Offutt Air Force Base in Bellevue. She was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary.
She is survived by husband Harold E. Dukes of Nebraska City; daughter-in-law Rosella Eaton of Nebraska City; three grandchildren: Jamie Gress and husband Chris of Lincoln, Stacey Maloy and husband Shawn of Omaha and Monty Eaton and wife Jenny of Brock; six great-grandchildren: Steven Gress, Molly and Nate Maley, Clay, Reese and Wyatt Eaton and other family and friends.
She was preceded by son Bobby Rex Eaton in 2002; brothers Ralph, Rube and Robert; sisters Mary, Edna, Laura and Nettie and two infant siblings.
The family will greet friends from 6-7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 16, at Gude Mortuary.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 17, at Gude Mortuary with Rev. Jeff Kelley officiating; burial will follow in the East Union Cemetery northeast of Union
