Marguerite D. “Mickey” Corley, 98, of Nebraska City died at The Ambassador in Nebraska City on Aug. 17, 2010. She was born Feb. 14, 1912 at Springfield, Mass., to John and Anny Eugenia (Langenbuch) Dubbels. She married Dean J. Corley Dec. 14, 1933 at Independence, Kan.
She is survived by sister Clarie Peek of Platte City, Mo.; nephew Kurt Grotheer and wife Elsie of Nebraska City; great niece Beth Williams; great nephews Richard, Andy and Tim Grotheer; many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded by her husband on Sept. 3, 1997, sister Dotty Lange; and brothers-in-law Joe Lange and Chris Peek.
She was formerly of Bartlesville, Okla., moving to Nebraska City in 2002.
She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Lutheran Church and ESA Sorority. She enjoyed traveling, dancing and antiquing.
Graveside services are at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 20, at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Independence, Kan., with Rev. Ron Oldnettel of the Zion Lutheran Church in Independence officiating.
A memorial fund has been established.
Visitation is 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday at Marshall Funeral Chapel in Nebraska City. The casket will remain closed.
