Robert F. DeVorss, 75, of Nebraska City, died Aug. 15, 2010 at St. Elizabeth’s Regional Medical Center in Lincoln. He was born on Jan. 28, 1935 in Shubert to Charles Floyd and Elsie (Boatman) DeVorss. He attended school in Nebraska City.
He married Lola Yates on April 17, 1955 in Auburn.
On Jan. 17, 1955 he entered the Air Force and was honorably discharged on Nov. 16, 1958.
Robert owned and operated Bob’s Auto Repair for many years until his retirement in 2000.
He is survived by wife Lola DeVorss of Nebraska City; son Robert F. DeVorss Jr. and his children, Holly and Taylor DeVorss; daughter Kim Kreifels and husband Clint and their children, Jason Kreifels and wife Jaclyn and Lisa Andrew and husband Bryce; daughter Karla DeVorss and her children, Tara and Neil DeVorss; and daughter Kathy Allgood and husband Bret and their daughter Kylie Allgood, all of Nebraska City; two great-grandchildren, Justus Kreifels and Aca Andrew; siblings Ronald DeVorss and wife Carolee of Tecumseh and Lorraine Rico and husband Joe of Nebraska City; sisters-in-law Phyllis Curry of Auburn, Jean Slagle of Tecumseh, and Sally Yates of Lincoln; and other family and friends.
He was preceded by his parents, Charles Floyd and Elsie DeVorss; mother- and father-in-law Pete and Marie Yates; sisters Wanda McGuire and Dorothy Morris; brother Richard DeVorss; brother-in-law Donald Yates and daughter-in-law Susan Elaine DeVorss.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 18, at Gude Mortuary in Nebraska City with Fr. Mark Cyza officiating. Burial will be at Wyuka Cemetery in Nebraska City. The family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 17, at Gude Mortuary.
