Matthew R. Dyke, 36, of Hamburg, died Aug. 11, 2010 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. He was born on Oct. 23, 1973 in Hamburg to Michael A. and R. Jean (Gregg) Dyke. He attended school in Hamburg.
He had many hobbies and interests including guitar playing, fishing, cooking and coin collecting. Matt also wrote and composed many songs. He had a compassionate heart, and he was always willing to help those in need or people less fortunate than himself.
He worked as a medication manager for Kevington Lane, near Sidney, where he was so loved by the residents.
Matthew is survived by his mother, Jean Dyke of Hamburg; his father, Michael Dyke of Papillion; fiancé Erin Anderson of Hamburg; siblings Paul G. Doiel of Clifton, Colo., Patrick A. Doiel of Fruita, Colo., and Leigh A. Calfee and husband Carl of Nebraska City; three nephews and two nieces: Trent Calfee, Luke Calfee, Kerry Williams, Tessa Doiel and Ashley Doiel; step-mother Sharon Langston of Papillion; grandmother Josephine Zanker of Hamburg; step-brothers Brad Langston of Tucson, Ariz., and Tim Langston and wife Michelle of Papillion; step-nieces and nephews: Melody Langston, Milo Langston, Noah Langston and Abbee Langston; aunt Mary Courtier of Shenandoah, Iowa; first cousin Kathryn Courtier of Shenandoah; and other family and friends.
He was preceded by his grandparents, William Dyke, Paul Gregg, Raymond Zanker and Anna Mae Gregg.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, Aug. 16, at 10 a.m. at the United Trinity Church in Hamburg with Rev. Rob Conner officiating; burial will follow at the Hamburg Cemetery in Hamburg.
