Fern Jean (Willms) McCartney, 65, of Loup City, died Monday, Jan. 18, 2010 at St. Johns Good Samaritan Center in Kearney.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, at the United Methodist Church in Loup City with Rev. Barbara Spangler and Rev. Scott Taylor officiating. Burial will be held at the Evergreen Cemetery in Loup City.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22, at Higgins Funeral Home in Loup City. Memorials are suggested to the Children’s Hospital in Omaha or donor’s choice.
Fern is survived by her husband, Edwin McCartney of Loup City; son Mitchell McCartney and wife Jean of Omaha; daughter Nicole Salisbury and husband Christopher of Holdrege; four grandchildren; mother Arla Willms of Omaha; brother Arthur Willms and wife Connie of Las Vegas; sister Alice Adcock and husband Clifford of Manchester, Iowa; and six nephews and three nieces. She was preceded in death by her father, William Willms, one nephew and one niece.
