Wayne R. Propp, 67, of Hamburg, died on Thursday evening, May 28, 2009 at The Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. He was born on Jan. 12, 1942 in Nebraska City, the only child of Albert J. and Lena (Davenport) Propp.  He graduated from Hamburg High School with the class of 1960.  He married Patsy Jo Barrett on Dec. 28, 1960.

Wayne had a love of the land and spent his life farming.  He was an avid race car fan and a member of the Motor Club.

He is survived by his children:  Cathy Ferguson of Hamburg, David D. Propp of Sidney, Daniel Propp and wife Sheila of Hamburg, and Dennis Propp of Hamburg; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild and other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.


There will be a memorial service held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, June 2, at the Rash-Gude Funeral Home in Hamburg with Rev. Blaine Pritchett officiating.  Private inurnment services will be at the Hamburg Cemetery in Hamburg.

A memorial is being established to aid the youth of Hamburg.
