Sharon Elaine Wachter, 69, of Warrenton, Ga., died July 24, 2010 at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, Ga., after over 11 hours of open heart surgery on July 14. She was born in Auburn. She lived in Peoria, Ill., and resided in Warrenton the last 11 years.
She was preceded by her husband, Merle Wachter; parents Albert and Maxine Simpson; and two siblings in infancy, Robert and Connie.
She is survived by sons Bruce Wachter of Evans, Ga., Mark Wachter and wife Shelley of Bellevue, and David Wachter of Creve Coeur, Ill.; grandchildren; sister Pat and husband Don Ramold of Nebraska City; brother Albert Simpson; several cousins, including Shirley Mertes and Ralph Simpson of Denver, Mary and Terry Jarvis and Adrienne Harrington of Atlanta, who rarely left her side after her lengthy surgery; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were July 27 at Young Memorial United Methodist Church in Warrenton. Graveside services were July 30 at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria, Ill.
