Edith “Edie” Irene Soderberg, 89, of West Lafayette, Ind., entered the presence of her Savior on Tuesday, July 24, 2018.
She was born on July 3, 1929, in rural Nebraska City, to Edward and Caroline Baltensperger.
Edie married Gene Soderberg on Aug. 24, 1957, at Glen Eyrie Castle in Colorado Springs, Colo.
Surviving, with her husband of 60 years, are her daughters, Janice (Jim) Lehnert of Indiana, Karen (Tom) Haley of Oregon, and Sandra (Jeff) Bantz of Florida. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren — Heidi Archer, David Haley, Rebecca Vela, Alyssa Bantz, Stephen Lehnert, Stephen Haley, Robert Bantz, Timothy Lehnert, Nicole Bantz and Christina Bantz — and nine great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by two nephews and a niece, her parents, and her nine older siblings: Daniel, Carl, Paul, and John Baltensperger, and sisters Regula, Anita and Winefred Baltensperger, Anna Marie Crook, and Maxine Kaufmann.
A memorial service was held on July 25 in Indiana. Edie’s Camp Creek Cemetery graveside service was held on Monday, July 30.  Her three daughters, 10 grandchildren and a niece from California attended. 
An extended family luncheon hosted by the local Baltensperger and Crook nephews and nieces was held at Tim and Carol Crook’s farm.
