Henry F. “Hank” Thompson, age 76. of Hamburg, passed away at his home on Friday evening, June 1, 2018.
Hank was born at the family home in Shenandoah; the son of Charles Harold and Wava Caroline (Olson) Thompson.
He attended school and graduated from the Hamburg High School with the class of 1959.
In 1961, he entered the U.S. Navy and faithfully served his country until his honorable discharge in 1965. He was united in marriage to Eileen Ann Bashaw on June 4, 1965, in Hamburg.
Hank worked for Cargill in Nebraska City for many years.  
He began working at the former Missouri Beef Company (now Cargill) in the late 1970’s and retired in 2004.
He was a member of the V.F.W.
He was preceded in death by his parents and twin brothers Jimmy and Johnny.
He is survived by his wife Eileen Thompson of Hamburg; children:  David Thompson and wife Kimberly of Lansdale, Pa., Diane Chapin and husband Bud of LaVista, Nebr., and Debra Thompson of Nebraska City, Nebr.; nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; siblings:  Barb Atkins of Plattsmouth, Nebr., Kenny Thompson and wife Karen of Coin, Iowa, Kathy Warren and husband Davey of Hamburg, Bob Thompson and wife Linda Kay of Sidney, Iowa, and Chuck Thompson and wife Kathy of Hamburg; numerous nieces and nephews, other family and many friends.
A Celebration of Life Visitation was to be held on Thursday (6/7) from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Rash-Gude Home in Hamburg.
Memorials may be given to the Hamburg Fire/Rescue Deptartment. Remembrances may be left at www.gudefuneralhomes.com. Rash-Gude Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
