William S. “Billy” Howell, age 47, of Nebraska City passed away on Sunday, May 27, 2018, in Nebraska City surrounded by his loving family.
William Scott “Billy” Howell was born on May 8, 1971, in Nebraska City; the son of Vilas Reid “Curly” and Mary Jane “Janie” (Betts) Howell.  He grew up and attended school in Nebraska City.
He worked at various jobs and businesses over the years including working for Shirley Environmental, Christiansen Painting, Concrete Industries, Moyer Farms and Sudbeck Construction in Omaha. He was a former member of the Eagles.
He is survived by his seven children: Gelena Jane Green of Des Moines, Iowa, William Scott Howell, Jr., Bryce Wayne Reid Howell, Taylor Christine Howell, Nicole Leann Howell, Braxton Timothy Reid Howell and Bryor Jackson Howell, all of Nebraska City; three grandchildren; mother, Mary Jane “Janie” Howell of Nebraska City; siblings:  Jane Hardy and husband Don of Tecumseh, Lisa DiRoma and husband Dan of Live Oak, Fla.; Julie Schalk and husband Ron of Nebraska City and Melinda Moyer and husband Todd of Nebraska City; half-brother, Virgil Howell and wife Deb of Savona, New York; half-sisters:  Carma Eagans and husband Jim of Rock Port, Mo., Peggy Eagans and husband Dean of Rock Port, Mo., and Tracy Fielder and husband Denny of Shenandoah, Iowa; other family and friends.
Billy was preceded in death by his father Vilas “Curly” Howell; brother Vilas “Bubby” Howell and half-sister Jeanette Diehl.
Funeral Services were to be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 1, at Gude Mortuary in Nebraska City with Steve Collins officiating.  Burial was to be held at a later date at Wyuka Cemetery in Nebraska City.
The family was to greet friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 31 at the mortuary.
