IvaDell K. Vollertsen, 93 of Syracuse, passed away on April 9, 2017 at the Syracuse Community Memorial Hospital. She was born on April 5, 1924, to Gilbert and Clara (Dieckgrafe) Holscher in Cook.
IvaDell married Melvin Vollertsen on Sept. 19, 1943, at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ (Osage). She worked as a clerk at Harold’s grocery store and the variety store in Syracuse. She enjoyed trips to the casino, grandchildren and great grandchildren’s sporting events and visiting with friends at Dairy Chef.
She is survived by her Children: Carol (LeRoy) Carlson of Syracuse, Marilyn (Larry) Nelson of Payson, Ariz., Jerry Vollertsen of Syracuse, Steve Vollertsen of Syracuse; 10 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; one great great grandson; daughter-in-law: Sharon Vollertsen of Syracuse; brother: Claron (Greta) Holscher of Cook.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son: Roger, daughter-in-law: Terry Vollertsen, brother: Norman, sister: Marjorie Johns and granddaughter: Stacy.
Memorial service will be held on Friday, April 21, at 2 p.m. at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ (Osage) in rural Cook. Friends may sign the register book from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. on April 20 at the funeral home. No viewing.
Private family burial will be at a later date.
