Helen M. Eis, 86 of Unadilla was born on Sept. 26, 1930, in Omaha, to Arthur and Edith (Swerdfeger) Wenninghoff.
She passed away on Jan. 1, 2017, at Southlake Village Rehab and Care Center in Lincoln.
Helen married Richard Eis on Jan. 3, 1952, at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church. She worked as an operator for the Lincoln Telephone Company and also in the housekeeping dept. at the Syracuse hospital for many years.
Helen enjoyed sewing, playing piano, singing and traveling to Branson.
Her true love was being with her family and attending all of her grandchildren’s events.
Helen is survived by her sons: Randy Eis of Unadilla, Tom (Rhonda) Eis of Beatrice; daughter: Gail (Mike) Ross of Dunbar; grandchildren: Jeremy (Ashley) Eis, Erin (Dustin) Kreifels, Krista Eis, Ryan Eis, Mitchell (Dawn) Ross, Caitlin Eis; five great grandchildren; brother: Ron (Mary Ann) Wenninghoff of Unadilla; sister-in-law: Maxine (Harold) Kearn of Kansas; also many nieces, nephews and friends.
Helen is preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother: Arthur Wenninghoff; and sister: Margery Koch.
Funeral services were to be held on Thursday, Jan. 5, at 10:30 a.m. at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church in Syracuse.
Burial was to be at Park Hill cemetery. Visitation was to be held on Wednesday, Jan. 4 from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. with family greeting friends from 6-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the family’s choice.
