Nebraska City High School will present its spring play, The Seussification of Romeo and Juliet, this weekend at the school auditorium.
Show times are at 8 p.m. on Friday, May 6, and at 2 and 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 7.
Saturday's matinee will be free for children ages 12 and under. It will feature a book reading by Thing I and Thing 2, the Cat in the Hat and Cindy Lou Who.
The play, written by Peter Bloedel, is a whimsical reinvention of Shakespeare's tragic love story, complete with rhymed couplets, creative wordplay and fantastical machines similar to something Dr. Seuss might have imagined.
Cast members are Michaela Chatfield, Tonya Daniels, Sadie Mizner, Molly Woodman, Elisabeth Conner, Madison Wurtele, Marco Aldana, Laura Regler, Michael Collman, Mackenzie Larson, Kira Fish, Nich Andersen, Audrey Briley, Andrew Parker, Mark Little, Dave Palmtag, AJ Sheppard, Eric Holmberg, Jake Tierra, Lauren Shoemaker, Amanda Dia, Mayme Jordan, Chaley Jensen, Brandon Elshire, Zoe Mojica and Ashley Stelling.
